She conducted a t school of instruction on the work 1 , of the order. f Mrs. Leif Peterson, retiring worthy matron of Evergreen 5 Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and Grand Representative of the state of Montana, was hon ored and responded with a talk, i.-' Plans were made for the an nual Easter lily sale on April 6. The girls will meet at the Masonic Temple at 9 a.m. and conduct a house-to-house canvass. A waffle breakfast is planned for' Sunday, April 7, at the home of the worthy adviser, Miss Carole i Foster, at 9 a.m., after which the girls will attend St. Mary's Epis copal Church in a group. Plans were discussed foe the re ception on April 10 honoring Miss Judy Schmid, grand representa tive of Oklahoma, and Miss Betty Lou Burt, grand choir member. A short business meeting at 7:15 p.m. will precede the public re ception at 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served by Misses Charlotte beely, Joy Schimpf, JoAnn Norris, Janice and Esther Reiling, Judic Reed and Barbara Paulson. The program will be arranged by Misses Beaddic Cummings, Nancy Cornwcll and Shirley Marks. Refreshments were served after the meeting by Misses Doris Bright, DeLane Claiborne, Judy and Janice Black, and Judith and Sclma Brusven. VFW and Auxiliary Plan Installation for April 10 SILVERTON (Special) Plans for! the joint installation of the newly elected officers of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Auxil iary on April 10, were completed last week at the regular session at the High street hall. The installation is to be at the Knights of Pythias Hall. Installing the post members will be the past VFW Department of Oregon com mander, Ron Dickens. Installing the auxiliary officers will be the district president, Mrs. Peggy Jor- don. Both Mr. Dickens and Mrs. Jordan are from the Molalla area. Mrs. Frank Durschmidt is arrang ing for the refreshment hour. Delegates for the June district convention at Oregon City named by Mrs. Morgan include Mrs. Mrs. L. M. Elliott, Mrs. Frank Roemer and Mrs. Robert Edgerton and as alternates Mrs. Emil Grant, Mrs. Carl Specht and Mrs, vestcr seydcll The president-elect Mrs. Ronald Syron, presented her preference list of appointive officers for the coming term Guests of the auxiliary were present from bnlcm and Wood burn, including the district presi dent, Mrs. Clarence Quartier. Ten past presidents of the VKW Auxil iary responded to roll call, lo complete the auxiliary elec tive personnel, Mrs. Gertrude Moen was named as guard, and Airs. L. M. l-.lllott, as secretary. Awards for the sale of a cake and a teapot for delegate expenses to the June district convention went lo Mrs. C. Lynch and Mrs Vestcr Seydell. Mrs. E. Reed and Mrs. R. Syron will serve at the April 10 meeting. Couple to Live In McMinnville Carol Hess Weds Larry R. Bailer SHERIDAN (Special) - Miss Carol Marie Hess, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burgess W. Hess, and Larry Ronald Bailer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bailer, all or snerioan, were married March 22, in ceremonies at the Methodist Church. The Rev. Gile Wilson Der- formed the 7 p.m. ceremony, be fore members ol the families and a few friends. Mrs. Adolph Pclzer played the wedding music. Baskcls of daffo dils and fern decorated the church. The bride was given In mar riage by her father, and wore a beige dress with matching bolero, white accessories, and carried a bouquet of pink and white gladioli and carnations. Miss Pam Pclzer was maid of honor, wearing a pink and white dress. Miss Pat Blackwcll, the bridesmaid, wore an aqua dress. Both wore pink and white carna tion corsages. Jim Hess, brother of the bride, was bcsPvjnan. Ushers were Larry Countryman, and Lonnic Bailer, cousin of the bridegroom. At a rccention in the church nar- lors after the ceremony, Mrs. Kate Humphreys of Dallas cut and served the wedding cake, which she had baked and decorated. Rainbow Members To Attend Church AMITY (Special) Amity As sembly, Order of Rainbow for Girls, will meet at the homo, of Mrs. Ruth Cochran, mother nd viscr, on Sunday, April 7, at 10:45 a.m. 1 no members will go In a group to the Methodist Church for commemoration of the founding of the order on April 6, 1022. The or ganization was founded by W. Mark Saxson in McAJister, Okln. A new date has been set for the ' Amity Assembly card party which will be on April 27.
